From Baton Rouge and Livingston to Ascension, Pointe Coupee, the River Parishes, and communities along Bayou Lafourche, District 6 is home to working families, educators, small-business owners, farmers, industrial workers, students, and seniors.

Rubia is running to lower costs, improve infrastructure, protect our rights, strengthen schools, create good-paying jobs, and make sure every community has a voice in Washington.

What I'll fight for as your Congresswoman:

  • Lower Costs & Grow the Economy: Make everyday life more affordable, protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, lower prescription costs, raise wages, expand housing and childcare, and support local small businesses.

  • Fix Roads, Traffic & Flooding: Bring federal dollars home to improve I-10 and I-12, bridges, roads, drainage, flood protection, water and sewer systems, and affordable flood insurance.

  • Create Jobs & Strengthen Education: Grow manufacturing, energy, construction, technology, healthcare and skilled-trade jobs while expanding apprenticeships, technical training, early education and support for teachers.

  • Protect Healthy & Connected Communities: Ensure clean air and water, responsible energy development, strong property-rights protections, rural investment, affordable broadband and better access to healthcare.

  • Keep Communities Safe & Protect Our Rights: Fight violent crime, trafficking and fentanyl while supporting fair justice, constitutional policing, voting rights, civil rights, due process and a government accountable to the Constitution.

WE BUILD LOUISIANA. IT'S TIME WASHINGTON BUILT FOR US.

Better Roads. Lower Costs. Good Jobs. Strong Schools.

Healthy Communities. Constitutional Leadership.

POLITICAL DISCLAIMER

This website is authorized by and paid for by Lindsay “Rubia” Garcia for Congress, the principal campaign committee for the election of Rubia Garcia to the United States House of Representatives, Louisiana's 6th Congressional District.

Due to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Louisiana v. Callais, Louisiana's 2026 closed-party primary elections for U.S. House of Representatives were postponed and are now scheduled for November 3, 2026 - the same date as the national general election.

Rubia Garcia is a Democratic Party candidate in Louisiana's 6th Congressional District race. If no candidate receives a majority of the vote, a runoff election will be held on December 12, 2026.

Contributions to Rubia Garcia for Congress are not tax-deductible. The maximum contribution per individual is $3,500 per election. Because the primary and general elections are considered separate elections under federal law, an individual may contribute up to $3,500 for the primary and up to $3,500 for the general election (should Rubia Garcia advance), for a combined total of $7,000 per election cycle.

Contributions from corporations, labor organizations, national banks, and foreign nationals are prohibited. Federal law requires political committees to use best efforts to collect and report the full name, mailing address, occupation, and employer of each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in an election cycle.

Any political advertising appearing on this website is paid for by Rubia Garcia for Congress in accordance with federal law and the regulations of the Federal Election Commission.
